Markieff Morris, the Detroit Pistons forward could be on the trade block very soon before the February 6 deadline. Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers are the two teams interested in Markieff looking to strengthen their team for the playoffs and possible Western Conference finals.

The New York Knicks forward Marcus Morris is the twin brother of Markieff Morris, who is also rumored to be moved ahead of the trade deadline. The Pistons are at 10th seed in the NBA East with 14-16 record and are planning to trade their players including Andre Drummond and Markieff Morris. Lakers vs Clippers rivalry is hard enough to sign Morris for the Western Conference finals.
Markieff Morris is on the Trade Radar for Clippers and Lakers
Lakers and Clippers are looking for experienced players in the trade market who can help them in representing the NBA West conference finals for the 2019-20 season. Markieff Morris is a lot easier to trade compared to his brother Marcus, as he has an affordable two year 6.5 million contract.

Also, Markieff has lost some of his value after his recent injuries and struggles to recover. As per the NBA experts, Markieff can be signed by giving a future first-round pick and a small contract player to the Pistons. Markieff can opt for a player option in the second year is another reason why the Lakers and Clippers are his ideal suitors.
Lakers or Clippers Ideal Fit for Markieff Morris?
Both the Los Angeles teams would try to sign Markieff Morris, but the Clippers might be more suitable to make a trade for him. The Clips need a power forward to space the floor and shoot, help Kawhi Leonard and Paul George to keep the scoreboard running.
Jerome Robinson and Mfiondu Kabengele are the two players that LA Clippers have to give in exchange for Detroit so that they can sign Markieff. The Lakers doesn’t have any future draft picks for the next three year which makes the deal with Pistons a bit hard. Morris has been averaging 10.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.7 assists, 47 percent shooting from the field and 41.1 percent three-pointers.
