NBA Trade Rumors: Andre Drummond Deal with New York Knicks Confirmed?

New York Knicks tried to sign a lot of star players in the last free agency but none of them joined them and they are again looking for the same as the February 2020 NBA trade deadline approaches. The Knicks have long given up their championship dream and also removed their coach David Fizdale and are totally rebuilding their team.

It is why the Knicks have their eyes on the trade market amid the deadline approaching and Andre Drummond from Detroit Pistons is the highest priority in their list. New York has made an inquiry about Pistons star Andre Drummond and he makes the most sense for them, hinting that the trade deal is almost confirmed.

Andre Drummond is in a lot of demands these days and his price will obviously be very high, but the Knicks have nothing to lose at this point. Drummond is playing amazing in the NBA 2019-20 season with an average of 17 points, 16 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks for the Pistons.

New York Knicks have spent all their money on very low caliber players and Drummond will be an upgrade at this point. Although the 26-year-old power-forward is among the trade list of other NBA clubs, the Knicks are the frontrunners to land the Pistons star.

Knicks signing Andre Drummond will be helpful to them in a lot of other ways. At present, none of the NBA star players want to play in the New York Knicks despite the money and limelight. The problem is that the Knicks are performing badly and the players are unable to find good deals once their contract ends.

But signing Drummond will also attract other free agents in the Knicks franchise, as the rebounding, inside-dominant big man is someone all the shooters and guards would love to play together. However, given the high competition to land Andre Drummond, the Knicks would have to pay a high price to Detroit.
