It seems that fans won’t be able to watch more of Jack Ryan (John Krasinksi) in action during 2020 and might have to wait till 2021 for the third season. Here are more details on the new showrunner for Jack Ryan season and the possible release date.
Jack Ryan Season 3 will be Handled by Prison Break Showrunner
Jack Ryan season 3 would be now handled by Paul Scheuring who is also the creator of popular TV show ‘Prison Break’ and several other projects. Paul Scheuring will be the third showrunner after the series co-creator Carlton Cuse for Jack Ryan season 1 and notable screenwriter David Scarpa for season 2. While hiring a new showrunner doesn’t mean any delay in the show but Paul is known to take a lot of time between two seasons.
The main reason why Amazon hired him was to make Jack Ryan action and political logic seems more realistic. A lot of critics and fans were not happy with the inconsistencies and lack of logic in season 2 and the makers want to make sure not repeat the same mistakes in ‘Jack Ryan’ Season 3. There is no synopsis out and neither are the casting calls made, it simply means Jack Ryan season 3 will take longer to come out on Amazon Prime Video.

Jack Ryan was renewed for a third season way back in February 2019 but at that time even the second season was not completed. The production and filming of shows at such level easily take 8 to 12 months and also Amazon has a now lot of other shows.

It has become difficult to balance the release dates as well, which is why it looks like Jack Ryan season 3 won’t be coming out in 2020. The filming has yet to be started and even if they manage it before the end of 2020, season 3 of Jack Ryan will only have a 2021 release date.
