Even though the critics gave it a negative rating, the audience loved the Bright movie and it had more than 11 million views on Netflix. Bright sequel was announced in January 2018 by Netflix and since the movie is under development. But it was constantly delayed due to Will Smith being busy with other movies such as Suicide Squad and Bad Boys 3. Although, David Ayer has confirmed that the movie is under development and as soon as Will is free, they will start filming.

There are slim chances that Bright 2 gets a Christmas 2020 release date with a trailer coming out at Comic-Con. But then again Netflix works on a quick schedule as they are not aiming f a theatrical release which makes it a bit easier.

We will soon the Will and Joel duo back for Bright 2 along with several new cast members joining the film.

Bright 2 will be better and bigger than the first movie and show the international lands apart from Los Angeles as hinted by Joel Edgerton who played the role of orc recruit, Nick Jakoby in the first movie.

Even David Ayer has teased about dragons and other mythological characters from the middle earth in a modern setting for the Bright sequel. Daryl Ward (Will Smith) was revealed to be a ‘Bright’ in the first movie and the second part will carry the story forward from there.
