Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings is one of the most different Marvel movies and almost zero information about it was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con 2019. The demand for Asian representation in Hollywood movies, especially in the superhero genre is great as China is one of the major box office providers and could make anything hit by their sheer audience.
While Shang-Chi might just be a kung-fu fighter, he has gone toe to toe with several Avengers and used comic powers in the comics. Shang-Chi Trailer and Release Date
Shang-Chi is slated to release on February 12, 2021, and it was confirmed when Marvel revealed their phase 4 slate. The release date of Shang-Chi is followed by Black Widow and Eternals in 2020 and Disney is confident enough that it can lead the new year.
The filming for Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings has already started and we could expect a trailer before the end of the year of sure. If the production schedule goes as per the plan, Shang-Chi’s first looks teaser or trailer could even be out during Comic-Con 2020 or Disney’s D23 event.
Shang-Chi Cast and Plot Details
Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Tony Leung as The Mandarin and Awkwafina are the only confirmed cast members of Shang-Chi. However, the rumors for casting calls suggest that a lot of Asian actors will be present in the Shang-Chi movie for the Ring Tournament scene as the announcers.

Even though there is not much available on the plot, some leaks from Reddit suggest Ten Rings will be the main plot points of the movie where the Mandarin will send Shang-Chi to win the competition and gather the rings for him. It would involve a lot of magic but the main theme of the movie will be courage, friendship, and betrayal.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings Mandarin and Avengers Connection Theory
There are two conflicting theories on the role of Mandarin in Shang-Chi and both of them agree that he will be the real character from the comic books and not the one played by Ben Kingsley in Iron Man 3.
The Mandarin could be the real father of Shang or simply they share an uncle-nephew dynamic like Walter White and Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad movie show. The post-credits scene of Shang-Chi could show one of the Avengers appearing and recruiting him to the superhero group.
