New Year Eve 2019: List of Open and Closed Grocery Stores, Malls, Banks, UPS, Mail Delivery, Stock Markets and More on Tuesday

New Year’s evening means parties, gatherings, fireworks and celebrations all over the world. It means many of the important shops or offices can remain close ad you may have to reroute and make changes in your plans. It is why the smarter choice to check earlier which establishments will remain open and which will stay closed on Tuesday, December 31 as the last day of the 2019 year.

New Year’s eve is neither a federal holiday nor a state holiday and it means regular work from government officials will be carried out. The first state holiday will commence on January 1 in 2020. United States Postal Service, mail delivery system including FedEx and UPS will remain open with modified services.

Meanwhile, NJ Transit, PATH and SEPTA will have a holiday or special services and hence rides should use a trip-planner and double-check the timings.

Most of the restaurants will stay open on the New Year’s eve and it may vary by the owner to owner. Panera Bread, Taco Bell, Panda Express and Chick-fil-A are some of the fast-food chains that will remain open on Tuesday. The New York Stock Exchange will remain open on Tuesday, December 31. Nasdaq trading will also remain open.

Meanwhile, the Bond markets will get closed at 2 p.m. on the last day of this year. All the Motor Vehicle Commission offices, state offices, and courts will be open as the next federal holiday lies on Wednesday, January 1, 2020.
