New York Knicks never imagined that they would tank so badly in NBA 2019-20 season and half of their team will be ready to leave the roster. The Knicks at one point were the front contender to sign Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, and also land the No.1 draft pick Zion Williamson. But all three stars are injured right now and belongs to Brooklyn Nets and New Orleans Pelicans.

Per Source: The New York Knicks and Houston Rockets have discussed a trade that would send Russell Westbrook to the Knicks in exchange for RJ Barrett, Marcus Morris and Bobby Portis. I’m told the Knicks are looking to create a big 3 of Westbrook, Randle and Knox.

The things have been so bad that Knicks are at 8-24 record with no chance of playoffs and many of their players have privately requested for a trade out before February 6 deadline. Marcus Morris, Bobby Portis, Dennis Smith Jr., Allonzo Trier, and Wayne Ellington wants to leave the NY Knicks before 2020 NBA trade deadline.
Marcus Morris
Marcus Morris is on the trade radar of a lot of teams and can really help them in becoming a true contender. The Knicks star is on a $15 million expiring contract and won’t cost much to any of the NBA teams looking for upgrades in the trade deadline. Morris has been averaging 18.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, with 46.1 percent of three-pointers and he also has a lot of experience to contribute to the court.
Bobby Portis
Bobby Portis wants out of the Knicks but it doesn’t mean he will get a lot of offers. The power forward is averaging 9.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per game but his performance is not consistent. But in the recent game against Miami Heat, Portis scored 30 points and eight rebounds on 12-of-17 shooting, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range.
It might make his name appear on the trade list of teams who are looking for a short term contract and Bobby Portis has a contract of $15 million this season with a $15.75 million team option for next season.
Dennis Smith Jr
Dennis Smith Jr. has garnered some interest from Minnesota Timberwolves who can pay $4.4 million to him for this season and $5.6 million for the next year. While Smith is only scoring an average of 5.2 points per game, he is famous for his athletism and got a lot of future potential. NBA teams who still believe in Dennis Smith Jr. might sign him with hopes of performance improvement when he joins a better roster.
