Apple is expected to launch its iPhone 12 series sometime this year. Rumors have been floating around as the launch of Apple’s new flagship smartphone series is approaching. The latest rumors contain technical specifications of the iPhone 12 regarding the 5G modem.

An account under the name Mobile Chip Management as shared on Weibo, mentioned the new series using Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 5G modem which is based on TSCM’s 7nm node.
The account also said by 2021, smartphone users will be able to avail of the Snapdragon X60 5G modem, as announced by Qualcomm. But contradictorily, Wccftech doesn’t agree with this fact. Because it would mean the chip developer’s revenue will soar if they offer Snapdragon X60 exclusively to Apple for a few months.
Driven by new design language of the phones and support for #5G connectivity, #Apple has told its supply chain partners to expect over 100 million orders for the #iPhone12 in 2020, the Digitimes has reported.

New Details revealed
Further, the website also took note of the fact that as compared to the SD X55, the Snapdragon X60 5G modem has significant benefits as it has more power efficiency and uses a smaller footprint. Also that it could combine sub-6GHz and mmWave bands which in turn would better the wireless data performance of the iPhone 12. Therefore, would be an ideal option for Apple’s new series.
