But the producers are silent and there is no release date update for Overlord season 4 even after it has been confirmed for a renewal. It might be possible that Overlord 4th season has been delayed due to the absence of light novel volumes on which the show is based.
Overlord Season 4 Release Date Speculations
Overlord Season 4 renewal status is not easy to determine until there is an official announcement from the makers. The hiatus period between two seasons of the anime franchise is normal and based on that, the next season of Overlord could take some time.
The first season of Overlord was ordered for anime adaptation in March 2015 and the episodes were released in July of the same year. However, Overlord season 2 was not announced until March 2017 and took another year and premiered in January 2018. While the break between second and third season was nominal, Overlord Season 3 was confirmed in April 2018 and the episodes premiered in summer that year.
But the whole Overlord season release timeline is not fixed, as sometimes it takes a few months and other times it takes two years between seasons. The reason behind in simple as the availability of light novel volumes source materials decides the waiting time and based on that Overlord Season 4 release date and announcement would easily take around a year or more.
Overlord Season 4 Release Date could be Delayed
Overlord Season 4 premiere date depends on the completion of source light novel volumes but the release of new installments has drastically slowed down in the last few years. Each season of Overlord has adapted three novel volumes sources into 13-episodes and there are only 12 volumes released when Overlord season 3 came out.
It is why Overlord Season 4 which is also rumored as the last and final season could be delayed until the source novels are done and release at the end of 2020 or even take till 2021 to premiere on the TV screens.
