The disease has severely affected people in Western New York.
This year’s CDC count reveals, approximately 1,200 cases of measles have been reported in thirty states till date. About seventy-five percent of these cases are caused because of the New York outbreak.

The reports reveal, all the five affected people weren’t vaccinated. Vaccination is vital and the county’s health officials are vigorously encouraging the Mennonite community to get vaccinated. The common symptoms of measles include:

- conjunctivitis
- watery eyes
- rashes
The patients are most infectious from 4 days before to 4 days post the rash appearance.

CDC revealed other states that reported cases of measles to include, Arizona, Alaska, California, Connecticut, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Idaho, Iowa, and Indiana.
