USA predicted to dominate Tokyo Olympics 2020

Early Predictions for Olympics 2020 is out and the USA is the clear winners there. Gracenote Sports forecasted USA’s clear domination in total and gold medals tally at Olympics 2020. If the Olympics were to start now, it’s hard to see much competition for the US National team.

As per Simon Gleave, the sports analysts for Gracenote sports, USA would go on to win 126 medals at the global pinnacle of sports. According to Gleave’s model, USA would grab 51 gold, 34 silver and 41 bronze.

The host nation Japan is expected to grab the third spot with 29 golds and 67 overall medals. That’s indeed a strong expectation from Japan who are minors looking at USA and China’s population. The home advantage nonetheless, always works for the host nation.

Spain sprung a surprise with their medal tally back in 1992 Olympics with home advantage. China and Britain also benefited from Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympics.

The Tokyo Olympics 2020 feature some new teams in the Top 10 as per forecast. Russia(65), Britain (43), Australia (43), France (41), Germany (38), Netherlands (34), and Italy (32) are next on the list.

Olympics 2020 might just be another leaf in Gleave’s rich history of correct predictions. This is the fifth time he has dolled out a model like this.
