UFC on ESPN returns to AT&T Center in San Antonio after 5 long years but promises a humdinger. Leon Edwards will take on Rafael dos Anjos in a bid to become the Ultimate Welterweight title contender.
The former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos though is as tough an opponent as any and Edwards should be wary of the fact. The Brazillian dos Anjos though isn’t in the best form either with the recent win over Kevin Lee his only in 3 games.

UFC on ESPN dos Anjos vs Edwards
Dos Anjos(29-11-0) has lost 2 while winning 4 since progressing to the Welterweight category. He is the bookie’s and critics’ favourite right now but Edwards thinks otherwise.
Leon Edwards: MMA saved me from being ‘dead, in prison or dead broke’ from MMA
That the former champion’s defeats came against champion Kamaru Usman and former Champion Colby Covington might inspire him. He is known for his furious kicks and is adept at defence.
Edwards on the other hand is as aggressive as they get. This is his chance to beat a top-ranked fighter. He is coming through the ranks at a furious pace with 7 match unbeaten streak.
He will give his critics a run for their money if he manages to defeat dos Anjos from the elite league. He thinks he can easily defeat dos Anjos who suits his style of play. The main fight in his view will be the title contender Masvidal.
“I think is one of the fights that will prove my case. I feel I need to go out there and stop him to prove my case that I am one of the best in the world. That’s my aim,” a confident Edwards told MMA Fighting.
Masvidal meanwhile defeated Askren in a record 5-second knockout recently. McGregor wanted to fight Masvidal but that dream seems distant following rejection from Dana White.
The Boxing scene also has a lot to offer with Manny Pacquiao taking on Keith Thurman. Dillian Whyte will also take on Oscar Rivas on an entertaining Saturday.
