Max Holloway stamped his authority over the UFC featherweight title at UFC 240 on Saturday. Holloway edged past veteran Frankie Edgar to retain his title at Edmonton on UFC 240.
Cris Cyborg, on the other main event of UFC 240, showed her class over rising star Felicia Spencer. She won through a technical knockout and handed Spencer her first ever MMA defeat at UFC 240.
Hollows consolidates his Champion status at UFC 240
It’s now been three months since Holloway suffered an embarrassing defeat at the hands of interim champion Dustin Poirier. Poirier is now slated to fight Khabib at UFC 242. The fight ended in Holloway’s favour at 48-47, 49-46 and 50-45.

Edgar did impress one and all with his swift movements but couldn’t dominate any moment. His failure to capitalise on major moments worked in Holloway’s favour at UFC 240.
“I wanted to prove a point and go five rounds with him to let the world know that I’m here to stay and the ‘Blessed Express’ is still on the move, baby. Choo choo!” Holloway said after the match.

He had words of appreciation to the upset Edgar who lost another opportunity to 2 Division titles.
“Frankie is a true warrior, give it up for this guy,” Holloway said. “You’re the guy who inspired me to be here.”
Cris Cyborg rises after previous setback
The Brazillian Champion rated as the best ever UFC fighter won her bout with Canada’s Felicia Spencer silencing her critics. Cyborg was humiliated in a knockout to Amanda Nunes which broke her 25 win streak at UFC 232.

Canadian Felicia Spencer thus suffered her first loss in MMA. Cyborg performed aggressively and put Spencer on the backfoot throughout. Cyborg landed a slurry of low kicks and punches although Spencer did well to deal with them.

The match ended in a unanimous decision to Cyborg (30-27 X 3). The next thing on Cyborg’s mind would be contemplating her next move. Her UFC contract has expired with this and she might retire after this.
