Dillian Whyte is in trouble after multiple sources reported that his “A” sample is tested positive. The samples that were taken before his fight with Oscar Rivas on July 20. Whyte’s fight win against Oscar might become sour now since he was on a banned substance influence prior the the match.

Whyte is in regulation of Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) but the tests were taken by UK Anti-Doping (UKAD). The positive reports are backdated to July 17 and were reported to the British Boxing Board of Control. According to credible sources, it was also reported to the Whyte Camp by UKAD but BBBC allowed the fight to proceed.

This puts a big question mark over BBBC’s commitment to clean boxing. Dillian Whyte though has right to appeal according to UK laws. Although his image is tinted for now, he is eligible to redeem himself.
Further to reports I can confirm that both Dillian Whyte and Oscar Rivas were subject to extensive VADA and UKAD testing for their bout. Both fighters were cleared to fight by both bodies and the BBBofC

The BBBC themselves couldn’t put sanctions on Whyte because the process is still not over. Only if the boxer is found breaching the PER protocol and the whole adjudication process is complete, can the sanction be processed.
Why Whyte might not get to fight Wilder
Dillian Whyte is not new to the substance abuse scene. The American himself was banned for a couple of years after testing positive for Methylhexaneamine. The news came days after his knockout of Sandor Balogh in 2012.
The Whyte-Rivas fight included an interim WBC world heavyweight title at stake. Dillian Whyte at 259 pounds won the fight on points after Rivas knocked him down in the ninth round.
Dillian Whyte hence finally became the mandatory challenge for Deontay Wilder’s title. WBC would have probably stopped the fight if they were aware of the abuse. This is a major loophole in the doping check system right now.
If WBC grant Wilder franchise champion title, he will not have to face Dillian Whyte. That in a particular to Whyte’s already self complicated route. It would be interesting to see how things pan out for the accused Whyte’s title dreams.
