Near-Total Abortion Ban passed in Alabama, No Exception to Rape or Incest

Recently, the Alabama State Senate has strictly passed an abortion ban for incest and rape. As per the reports, abortion rates have slightly increased. In 2018, 41 million were estimated globally. However, the government is taking the necessary actions to control the abortion rate in America.

Finally, the legislation of Alabama has approved to pass a ban on near-total abortion. It was passed on May 14, 2019. Plus, the legislators will offer no exceptions for incest and rape. If they found any doctor or hospital performing an abortion, then they will be imprisoned for a lifetime.

Governor Kay Ivey, a Republican has not signed the bill yet. However, if she signs it, the bill will become the strictest abortion law in America. As per Sponsor Rep. Terri Collins, Ivey is expecting the government to support the bill. The Republic led Senate voted 25-6 to pass HB 314 after the four hours of debate.

The doctors might go to prison for 99 years for performing any abortion activities. The law will only exempt those who detect any unborn child with serious anomaly. The doctors can continue abortion only if the pregnancy has health risk to the unborn child and the mother.

The government wants the families of young girls to help and educate them about pregnancy. If a victim of incest or rape is found pregnant, then she should seek mental and physical help from the doctor. They can also help her to gain justice. After the bill passed, many people are raising their voices to support the cause.
